Under a Saguntine sky

Finally made it to Sagunto yestarday after first attending the tomatina in Bunol, which was absolute mayhem, I was under the mistaken impression that I could stand close enough to film it without actually being hit by hundreds of over ripe roma tomatoes....I was wrong.
What ensued was a deluge of a crimson bombardment which rendered the streets of Bunol knee deep in tomato pulp.

As you can see, not a pretty site.
Washed it all off in the local river and caught the train to Sagunto to begin the Hannibillica.
I spent the morning filming in the fortafied ruins above the old town in 30 degree heat. its unbelievable to think this is where it all began, the second Punic war between Carthage and Rome. The reason why im here in Spain. So its time to head north.
hasta la vista.
